The benefits of adopting a daily meditation habit are well-documented and one only has to go on the Internet to read scores of articles on its positive benefits. But most people recognise their ‘monkey mind’, which leaps about from thought to thought and never sits still in one place. And wonder exactly how they can be expected to produce an Alpha brainwave state from such chaos? The answer to that lies in another question. How do you get to do anything well? It is by Practice, Practice, Practice. If a baby gave up the idea of walking from the amount of times it fell down, we would all still be crawling around, right? The key to attaining Alpha is total physical relaxation.  And here is how this three-part course works. 

Session One 
We talk about the various forms of meditation, and especially the do’s and don’ts of meditation and it is really important to know about these in order to have a successful outcome.  I also address any concerns the student has on the subject.
  
Session Two   In this class, we review the technique and then I gently guide the student through the whole process.  We discuss the individual experience of each participant. The student then has about a week to practice by him/herself and to take notes of any difficulties or any successes. 

Session Three 
The group meets again a week later to report back. I will assess each case history and recommend ‘tweaking’ the technique where possible.  We then do the meditation together once again. This is a highly individualized course and I am always available at the end of a telephone line or e-mail to provide the necessary support.  The meditation technique is an easily-assimilated four-step process. Meditation is like putting regular savings into a bank. Without noticing it, you suddenly realise the account has grown:  you no longer re-act adversely to situations - you find yourself becoming unexpectedly aware of the You who is aware of the physical You.
