Reiki - a Japanese kanji (word) which breaks down into two ideas: 
                      
                                    Rei = Universal       and         Ki = Energy

Reiki is an ancient science of energy and healing art from the East.

It is a precise tool for balancing your whole physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dynamic.

Reiki reduces stress and revitalizes you to help maintain good health, a positive attitude to life and inner peace.

Reiki energy promotes a powerful and beautiful personal transformation.

Reiki has helped the sick by relieving pain and symptoms and can restore wholeness and health.

Reiki is cross-cultural, is not a religion and does not require faith in it to be effective.

In the early days of Reiki, practitioners and recipients alike had to take on good faith that there was a metaphysical mechanism at work which produced the results experienced in Reiki healing.

Because of the widespread use of this energy system, curious scientific minds began to explore the processes involved and to create the tools with which to measure these subtle energy emissions. Today we are fortunate to better understand what happens in a Reiki treatment.  Even though we are still grappling with the implications of quantum interconnectedness of all organisms, the findings to date make perfect sense.

Independent research into energy healing by Drs. Becker and Zimmerman (University of Colorado) in the 80’s, found that the brainwave patterns of practitioner and receiver become synchronized in the alpha state (characteristic of deep relaxation and meditation).

Further, that this state allowed the practitioner access to the earth’s magnetic field, the Schumann Resonance. At these moments the biomagnetic field of the practitioner’s hands is at least 1,000 times greater than normal (T. Bunnell, 1997). In 1990 and 1992, Zimmerman (USA) and Seto (Japan) discovered that the pulses sweep up and down from 0.3 – 30 Hz, focusing mostly in the 7-8 Hz alpha state.

Independent medical research has shown that this range of frequencies will stimulate healing, with specific frequencies being suitable for different tissues.

By learning Reiki, you can tune in directly with this energy and may practice on yourself, on others and on animals and plants. The Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki method is simple, easy to learn, gentle, effective and deeply profound.

Reiki Level One is the gateway to the wholesystem and allows you a true experience of universal energy through contact healing.

Reiki Second Level takes you into the symbolic language of the Reiki vibrational science. You will learn precise methods for directing universal energy outside of time and space.

Mastery - Advanced Level: 2-3 October 2010

Advanced Reiki takes you to Master Level.  This level is split into two pathways. The first is simply for  those who  do not desire to practice or teach Reiki, but wish to avail themselves of deeper insights into its philosophy and symbology. 

The second pathway is to become a Reiki Master Teacher.  At the Reiki School of Natural Healing this will involve  a one-year apprenticeship, assisting at classes and eventually leading sesssions and the student will also be required to create their own teaching Manuals.

Sekhem is another healing technique which pre-dates Reiki. It is an extremely powerful form of healing  whose origins have links with ancient Egypt.  Symbology is explored as also the links with Reiki.  

I did tell you in person but I want to say again many thanks for the portal you opened in my life with the Sekhem healing. I am so very grateful for that weekend's experience and I give you many thanks for facilitating it. Karuna is a Sanskrit word and  translated means“compassionate action”.  Karuna must be accompanied by “parjna” or wisdom in order to have the right effect.  This is a healing technique which is gentle and comes from the heart centre.
